Safer Meeting Guide
Safer Meeting Guide
Practical guidance for meeting another SULTRAFIED Member more safely — before you meet, while you’re together and whenever something does not feel right.
Meeting somebody online always involves judgement
Meeting another person for the first time carries risks that no website or app can completely remove. People may present themselves differently online, misunderstandings can occur and information contained in a profile may not tell you everything you need to know.
SULTRAFIED does not represent that every Member has undergone a criminal-record, employment, financial or other comprehensive background check unless we expressly state otherwise in relation to a specific service.
You should therefore make your own decisions about whether, when and where to meet another Member and should never rely solely on profile verification, photographs, reviews, account age or another Member’s assurances.
A simple meeting plan can reduce unnecessary risk
Before meeting somebody from SULTRAFIED, take time to confirm who you expect to meet, agree where you are meeting and make sure another trusted person knows your plans.
Choose a café, bar, restaurant or another busy public venue for the first meeting.
Tell a friend or trusted person who you are meeting, where you are going and when you expect to return.
Consider speaking by voice or live video before meeting so you have an additional opportunity to confirm who you expect to meet.
Know how you are getting there, how you are getting home and what you will do if you decide to leave early.
Meet first. Decide what happens next afterwards.
A first meeting does not have to involve sexual activity. Meeting socially first gives everyone an opportunity to confirm that they are comfortable, that expectations match and that they genuinely want to continue.
Nobody is entitled to sex, physical contact or access to somebody’s home merely because a meeting was arranged through SULTRAFIED.
You may change your mind at any point. If something feels wrong, uncomfortable or different from what you expected, you can leave.
Do not make yourself dependent on a stranger
For an initial meeting, arrange your own transport wherever reasonably possible. Avoid placing yourself in a position where somebody you have never met controls whether or when you can leave.
Think carefully before getting into a vehicle with somebody you do not know. If you travel independently, keep enough money, battery power and access to your phone to make alternative arrangements.
If your plans change during the meeting, update the trusted person who knows where you are.
Keep a practical way of leaving whenever you choose.
Do not make a stranger your only means of transport or accommodation.
You do not need to disclose everything immediately
Be cautious about giving a new contact information that could identify where you live, where you work, your family, your financial information or other sensitive details.
Consider whether somebody genuinely needs your home address, personal telephone number, workplace, surname or other identifying information before sharing it.
Use SULTRAFIED’s communication tools while you are still deciding whether you trust somebody enough to exchange additional contact details.
Avoid meeting when judgement is significantly impaired
Alcohol and drugs can affect judgement, communication, awareness of risk and a person’s ability to give or recognise valid consent.
Avoid arranging or continuing a meeting where you are significantly affected by alcohol or drugs. Exercise the same caution where another person appears heavily intoxicated, impaired, confused or unable to make clear decisions.
Never pressure another person into drinking, taking drugs or participating in sexual activity.
Use verification as one part of your decision
Verification can help establish that certain information or checks associated with an Account have been completed. It does not mean that SULTRAFIED endorses the Member or guarantees how that Member will behave.
Be especially cautious where a new Account has little profile information, refuses reasonable verification, will not communicate before meeting or repeatedly changes basic details about who will attend.
If you are unsure whether somebody is an adult, do not proceed with any sexual interaction. Ask for appropriate proof of age where necessary.
Useful trust signal
Never assume this
Discuss sexual health before sexual activity
If a meeting may become sexual, discuss boundaries, contraception where relevant, safer-sex preferences, condom use, STI testing and other matters important to you before sexual activity begins.
Do not assume that somebody’s profile, appearance, relationship status or previous sexual history tells you their sexual-health status.
Respect another person’s safer-sex requirements even where those requirements differ from your own.

Be cautious about travelling a significant distance, purchasing expensive tickets or booking accommodation solely because somebody you have never previously met has agreed to meet you.
People’s plans change and unfortunately some online contacts may not turn up at all. Arrange travel in a way that means the trip remains acceptable to you even if the meeting does not happen.
If staying overnight, consider having accommodation that you independently control rather than relying upon somebody you have never met.
Take warning signs seriously
There is no single behaviour that proves somebody is unsafe, but unexpected pressure, secrecy, inconsistencies or attempts to remove your independence should make you reconsider the meeting.
They pressure you to meet privately rather than publicly.
They refuse reasonable voice or video communication before meeting.
Their profile details or story repeatedly change.
Unexpected people are going to attend who were not part of the original arrangement.
They pressure you to disclose your address or other personal information.
They become angry or manipulative when you establish boundaries.
They pressure you to drink, take drugs or participate in sexual activity.
Something simply does not feel right.
Reporting concerns to SULTRAFIED
